Donna experienced yoga as a tool of self-healing, self-love and self-transformation. Her gentle and compassionate approach to yoga, is reflected in her teaching. She believes yoga is for everyone, no matter the body, age, ability or stability.
Donna has been teaching since 1999. She lived a month in the Swami Satchidanda Ashram in Yogaville, VA , where she achieved her 200 hour level teacher certification in Integral Yoga. She is registered with the Yoga Alliiance and also with IYTA – Integral Yoga Teacher Association.
Besides studying with her favorite teacher, Doug Keller in Yoga as Therapy, Donna has also studied with John Friend, Mark Stevens, Scott Blossom, Cora Wen, Stephanie Keach, Shala Rain, Leslie Karminoff, Betsy Downing, Gary Krafstow, Seane Corn, Sarah Powers, Mukunda Stiles, K. Scholz Grace, Anodea Judith, Robert Miller, Larry Payne, Karen O’Donnell Clarke in Adaptive Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis and with her dear friend, B.V. Subrahamyan “Subbuji” from Hyderabad, India, in Manoyoga.
Donna’s most recent certification is through Duke University of Integrative Medicine, with Kimberly Carson MPH &RYT and James Carson PHD, in Yoga of Awareness for Cancer.
Donna will be completing her 500 Yoga Alliance hours with Asheville Yoga Center in January 2011.
Donna has lived in Newnan, GA, since 1980. She enjoys gardening and her pets. She is the mother of nine beautiful children and three grandchildren.
